Happy New Year

Deuteronomy 33: 24-25 “And of Asher he said; Asher is most blessed of sons; let him be favored by his brothers, and let him dip his foot in oil. Your sandals shall be iron and bronze; as your days, so shall your strength be.”

In his blessing, Moses was desiring that Asher would have a blessed relationship with all the other tribes (favored by his brothers), would have a life of prosperity (dip foot in oil) and that he would be blessed with strength (sandals of iron and bronze).

I would like for a moment to reflect on that last phrase “as your days, so shall your strength be.” I believe this part of this blessing is something that God blesses all of us with. He may not give to each of us prosperity or family blessings as He blessed the tribe of Ahser, but I do believe that God desires to give each of us “His Strength”.

Paul tells us in Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me.” The part we learn thru Deuteronomy is that God blesses us with strength for the days trials. The point is somedays I may need more and others I may need less but God knows the amount I need and the reason I need it and He is in control! I think you should also remember God gives you strength for everyday not just the days you want it but strength for every day!

I do not know what 2018 is going to bring but I do know that God knows, and He will give us all the strength we need and when we need it. So, all we must do is rely on His strength and keep our trust and faith in Him!
